Soupy Soups

Winter melon, dried scallops and dates soup
Wintermelon has cooling properties, suitable for our scorching weather, red and black dates are added to sweeten the soup and to make me feel less tired as they helps to nourish the blood..Worth a try

10 small dried scallops, presoaked and drained
handful of soya beans
5 red and 5 black dates
lean pork,washed and cubed
1. Boil soyabeans first in pot of water for 15 minutes.Add in rest of ingredients.
2.Bring to boil and simmer for 2 hours.enjoy.

Chrysanthemums with cabbage,carrot soup

Chrysanthemum is well-known as a common herbal tea found locally,it is good to relieve eye strain ,though I doubt it improve our vision..haha.In addition,it helps to soothe sore throat,or high blood pressure.Carrots, cabbage and soyabeans can helps to lower blood cholesterol and hypertension, though regular consumption is needed to do that.Cabbage can be too cooling for some,if that is the case, can add in a knob of ginger to counteract that effect.
5 dried chrysanthemums
2 carrots,sliced thinly to preserve nutrients,chop
Handful of soyabeans
4 white cabbage leaves,chunks
lean pork,washed and cubed
1.Boil soyabeans for 15 minutes, add in rest of ingredients to boil,
2.Lower heat to simmer for 2 hours.Time to drink.hehe...
Ever since I stopped ordering tingkat,I have to prepare my own lunch and dinner nearly everyday. Undeniably, tingkat is a convenience, but imagine eating the same food again nearly every two weeks for 3 months...gosh,that turns me off immediately...not to mention that outside food is always laden with too much salt and MSG...as for taste,oh well,I must gave some credit for the superb cooking, indeed food is always served hot if not pleasantly warm, service is very efficient..so if you are someone who favours taste and convenience,do try BEST catering...hehe...
Back to the soups,I loved them, wholesome goodness that warm the heart and soothe the palate, hence it has become my "lunch",with a bowl of brown rice,it is an substainal meal
best of all, with sufficient simmering,I do not even need to add any seasoning to enhance the taste, its good enough as it is...Noticed that flu virus is getting more and common,no appetite to eat?Try drinking some soups, besides, theres minimal cleaning, simply wash, chop and dump into slow cooker or pot to simmer..hehe...what can be easier than this?haha...
