homemade char siew



For the record,this recipe did not come from me,nor did I modify it...It is derived from the AMC cookbook which can be used for grilling,baking,steaming without additional oil,sealing in the juices,making food healthier,and if to seriously compared,well,have to comprised a little on the flavour...In true grilling,the oil is brush on contionusly,food when slightly charred is the best,but of course the oil is always dripping onto the hot coals,emitting a type of fume which makes grilled foods ,especially the charred bits carcinogenic,besides,we hardly go for bbq outdoors,hence this make a healthier alternative,in a league of its own,I would not even called it char siew as it taste not quite the same,but since this is what is titled in the cookbook,so be it...haha...Cant think of any suitable name anyway...haha..Serve wrapped with cruchy vibrant green lettuce,it is a good way to indulge without much guilt...haha...
